OPENING DAY!
The Sons will be playing in the leagues first game of the year. We will be facing the 2 time defending champion Cardinals. The game is at 1:00 on Field 1. Everyone needs to arrive at the field 1 hour prior to the game for pre-game warmups and the opening ceremonies to kick off the 2012 season.
BASEBALL TIPS
If you would like to view some good baseball tips for pitching, fielding, hitting, catching, outfield, and bunting drills, go to ON DEMAND on your cable channel, select sports, then select sportskool and scroll down to baseball. On this segment, former major league baseball all-star Tony Gwynn talks about the proper techniques for all the above stated categories. The beauty of this site is, you can pause, rewind, fast forward, and repeat over and over to review the instructions at your pace, and it's FREE. After watching, you should go out and try working on these skills. I will be reinforcing these drills at our practices; and we all know, the more we practice the better we get.
FOR THE DAD'S
Field Clean Up Duty Is 4/21 Saturday Morning 8-12. If you have any lawn care tools and work gloves, bring them along. Usually the work detail involves some raking, light shoveling, trash pick up, weed cutting, and maybe some painting.

Welcome
Welcome players and parents to the Sons Of Italy Little League Baseball Blog. The purpose of this site is to keep all informed about the team and its practice and seasons game schedule as well as concession duty and field clean up help. I'll also be adding any ongoing news, game summary reports and baseball tip reminders throughout the season. Also, with the help of my wife (the newly appointed team photographer) maybe include some photos of the team in action. I hope everyone will find the blog informative, helpful and fun. Check in frequently for updates.
